June Bonacich is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she studied Composition with Elinor Armer. She now teaches musicianship and composition in the pre-college division of the Conservatory. She plays percussion with the San Francisco Lesbian Gay Freedom Band. She also plays percussion & second violin with the Community Women’s Orchestra (CWO0 in Oakland. She has had orchestral works performed by CWO as well as the Oakland Youth Orchestra. Her Concerto for Bassoon Quartet premiered by CWO. June is also an occasional playwright/ “Group Therapy”, a musical that she wrote for the Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco, was performed in San Francisco and at the Gay Games in Chicago in 2005. She lives in San Francisco with her wife Joselle Monarchi and their 5 cats and one dog. They have a human son and one grandchild.
